Why Spinal Screening?
The focus of this chiropractic office is the detection and corrections of subluxations (interference to your nerves). For this reason we use the latest technology for assessing the condition of your nervous system. This is called the Insight Millennium Subluxation station.
The technology doesn’t do anything to you - it just measures output from you. The five technologies used are often used in fields other than chiropractic such as physiology and neurology research.
The five assessments are:
- Algometry (pain mapping) - This test measures the sensitivity of various locations around your spine to pressure.
- Range of motion – this identifies areas of restricted motion and compares your movement to normal values
- Surface electromyography – this helps identify areas and patterns of abnormal muscle tension and stress caused by motor nerve interference
- Thermal scan – assesses the function of the autonomic nerves (controls organs, glands and blood vessels) by precisely measuring temperature differences along your spine.
- Pulse Wave Profiler – examines the timing of your pulse and the balance and tone of your nervous system (heart rate variability). Proper balance and tone are associated with better adaptability and a healthy lifestyle
